Hair Loss PRP Treatment

What is PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, which is a concentration of platelets derived from your own blood which is injected to trigger a healing process. Platelets contain packets of growth hormones and cytokines. When PRP is injected in an area it leads to new cell growth and tissue regeneration.

This new tissue includes new collagen, new fatty tissue, and new blood vessels. Because the blood is your own, there is no risk of rejection as it is totally bio-compatible and bio-degradable.

PRP for Hair Loss: For the medical treatment of hair loss, PRP is used to stimulate the growth of follicles, thereby reversing the hair miniaturization seen in Androgenic Alopecia (common baldness). Research has indicated that the introduction of platelets and white blood cells through platelet rich plasma (PRP) can amplify the body’s naturally-occurring wound healing mechanism and can actually stimulate the stem cells (dermal papilla) of newly transplanted hair follicles after Hair Transplants.

How is the procedure conducted? A sample of blood will is taken from a vein in your arm under sterile conditions. The blood is then processed to separate the blood cells from plasma, and allow concentration of the platelets. The finished PRP product is then available for injection into the scalp where hair rejuvenation and regeneration is required.

Is the treatment safe? The treatment is conducted by registered medical practitioners under strict hygienic conditions. Also the accessories (vaccutainers containing growth factors in which the withdrawn blood is placed for centrifugation) are imported from Switzerland to ensure safety and superior quality.
